Man Utd handed Raphael Varane setback due to two complications

Manchester United will have to wait longer before confirming the arrival of Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.

This comes after the Red Devils and Real Madrid reached an agreement over the signing of the Frenchman, with Solskjaer keen to sign a partner in defense for Harry Maguire this summer.

And when Varane became a possibility, the Red devils went all out for the Madrid star, who has agreed personal terms with his new team.

A deal has already been struck that will see the France international move to Old Trafford for a fee that will rise to £43million with add-ons.

But, Varane will be going nowhere anytime soon with the player experiencing visa troubles, according to the Telegraph.

The 28-year-old is yet to travel to Manchester due to the issue while upon arrival he will also have to quarantine before he completes a medical.

It means that an official confirmation over the player’s arrival will take at least another week which will deal Solskjaer a problem.

The United manager would have preferred to have gotten his second transfer of the summer in early, especially with the club set to play Everton this weekend.

Manchester United’s pre-season plans have already been disrupted by Covid, which saw a match against Preston North End cancelled. And the match against the Toffees is the last warm-up game before the new Premier League season.

United have big plans for the transfer window and have already signed long-term target Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

The England international was chased last summer but has now finally agreed a move worth £73m to become the first arrival of the year for the club.
