Man Utd make decision on Van de Beek’s future after Real Madrid bid

Manchester United are willing to allow Donny van de Beek leave this summer and are minded to accept a loan with a right-to-buy offer from Real Madrid.

He joined United from Ajax in a £40m deal last summer but he has failed to make the team, starting just four Premier League games all season.

The midfielder scored his only goal for the club on his Premier League debut against Crystal Palace and he missed the Euros through injury to top off a torrid season.

Real Madrid were interested in van de Beek’s signature last summer but were pipped to the signing by United, who were in a better financial situation than the Spanish club during the pandemic.

The La Liga giants are still in financial difficulty but they’ve placed a loan offer for the Dutchman which includes an obligation to sign permanently in 2022.

Reports suggest the Red devils would recoup most of their outlay on van de Beek and United are now reportedly ready to accept the offer.

The loan deal would include a ‘nominal’ fee of around £2million before Madrid stump up around £35m for him next year.

Van de Beek was signed as a possible replacement for Paul Pogba in 2020 but they managed to keep hold of the Frenchman and they’re currently in talks with his representatives over a new contract.
