As reported by David Ornstein and The Athletic, United has initiated talks with Serie A club Lecce for the 20-year-old left wing-back. ..Continue Reading
Considered one of the most promising young talents in global football, Dorgu was tracked by several teams during the 2024 summer transfer window.
Ornstein’s report indicates that ‘dialogue is progressing’ between the two clubs, with Amorim eager to bring in players who align with his tactical approach.
Dorgu, primarily a left-wing-back who can also play on the right, would be a valuable asset for United. This season, the Danish youngster has shown his attacking prowess, scoring three goals in 20 Serie A appearances.
If United secures Dorgu, it could potentially end their interest in Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, thus giving Liverpool a clear path to the player.
According to Fabrizio Romano via Give Me Sport, both Liverpool and United have been ‘closely monitoring’ the Hungarian’s development.
Kerkez has been a standout player in the Premier League this season, tallying two goals and three assists in 23 matches, including a stunning strike against Newcastle United.
Reports suggest Liverpool specifically wants to sign Kerkez for Slot, believing his profile would thrive under the Dutch manager at Anfield.
In November, before Bournemouth’s match against Manchester City, Andoni Iraola downplayed the speculation surrounding the 21-year-old’s future.
“I don’t know how much truth there is in these rumours,” he said.
“Milos has been solid this season, he is more mature and he is seeing the benefits of having the experience of going through a past season.
“I think it is a new level for him. We have to consider he is still very, very young, he has to continue developing like this and also add more things.
“I hope he continues along the same line,” he added.
