Manchester United have turned down the opportunity to acquire Karim Benzema during the January transfer window.
Last summer, Benzema concluded his 14-year tenure with Real Madrid to join Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League.

However, only six months into his stint, uncertainties surround his future, and reports indicate the experienced striker is eager to make a return to Europe this month.
Despite struggling for goals throughout the season, United has been among the clubs linked with interest in the 36-year-old.
While Rasmus Hojlund, a summer signing, has netted seven times in his debut season, he is now the sole recognized center forward for the club, with Anthony Martial sidelined until April due to surgery.
Erik ten Hag and his team are reportedly exploring loan options to strengthen their forward lineup, having secured Wout Weghorst on a temporary deal last year.
Despite the setback of losing Martial for the next three months, United has decided against pursuing Benzema to address the void upfront.
According to The Sun, United has declined to engage in talks with the Frenchman, who signed an £86 million deal with Al-Ittihad just six months ago.
Other reports have also downplayed the possibility of a United approach for Benzema, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INOES expressing skepticism about significant financial deals for players in or entering the later stages of their careers.
United aims to break the pattern of signing established names on hefty salaries, with Raphael Varane and Casemiro, former teammates of Benzema at Real Madrid, facing scrutiny from those currently overseeing the club’s football operations.
United is not the only club seeking a center forward this month; Chelsea is reportedly interested in Benzema as well. The Blues are grappling with well-documented issues up front, primarily relying on summer signing Nicolas Jackson.
Arsenal has also been linked with Benzema, but like United, the Gunners are believed to have rejected making an offer, focusing instead on securing a ‘versatile defender’ this month.
