The triumph ended Tottenham’s long trophy drought and secured their place in next season’s Champions League.
Following the final whistle, Amorim addressed speculation about his future, stating that if United choose to part ways with him, he will not seek any compensation.
He said: “I have nothing to show to the fans, so in this moment it is a little bit of faith (that is required). Let’s see (on the future). Like I said before, I am always open.
“If the board and fans feel that I am not the right guy, I will go in the next day without any conversation about compensation, but I will not quit.”
On Thursday morning, BBC Sport football reporter Simon Stone gave an update regarding Man United’s stance on Amorim’s future.
He wrote on social media: “No change to previous @ManUtd position following last night’s press conference. Club and ownership still behind Ruben Amorim and feel the fans are too.”
Expanding on what the defeat means for the club going forward, Amorim said: “It’s in the future, I’m not going to talk about the future. [I will talk about] this loss, the pain of losing this match.
“I share the pain with our fans. They deserve better. We will try everything about the future, we will see what we are going to do.”
He continued: “We need to understand it’s tough for a club like ours not to be in the Champions League. But we have to use the other side. We will have more time to think, to work during the week, and to be better in the Premier League. That will be our focus.”
