Man Utd stars unhappy to see Sancho start over Lingard & are annoyed with ‘greedy’ Greenwood

Members of the Manchester United squad privately believe Jesse Lingard should be starting ahead of Jadon Sancho amid concerns over Mason Greenwood’s ‘greediness’ on the ball.

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick is facing a divided dressing room at Old Trafford with a number of players unhappy with life at the club.

Several players who were on the periphery of the team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have been surprised to see their situations remain the same under Rangnick.

Lingard, who shone on loan at West Ham United last campaign, has not played a minute of league football under the German coach having also failed to start a league match under Solskjaer.

According to the Manchester Evening News, some of Lingard’s teammates now feel the England attacker is overdue a run in the team with Sancho struggling in his first campaign at the club.

The summer signing has scored two goals and provided no assists in 22 matches since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund.

Greenwood’s ‘apparent greediness’ has also riled teammates, according to reports. Lingard, Donny van de Beek, Eric Bailly and Henderson are among those frustrated with their lack of opportunities.

Van de Beek has managed only six minutes of Premier League football since Rangnick’s arrival, with his only start coming in the Champions League game against Young Boys.

Henderson meanwhile is reportedly eager to secure a move away having played second fiddle to David de Gea all campaign with his focus on earning first-team opportunities ahead of the World Cup at the end of the year.
