Man Utd planning transfer move for Kylian Mbappe next summer

Manchester United will try to sign PSG attacker Kylian Mbappe next summer when the club will seek to sign an established centre forward.

Edinson Cavani’s decision to sign a one-year extension at the club in May allowed the Red devils to shelve their plans to sign a new striker this summer window and focus on other areas.

While United could still make more signings before this summer’s transfer window closes, they are already planning for the future having drawn up a list of possible additions up front.

According to ESPN, Mbappe is one of the options being considered alongside Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez.

The Frenchman has now entered the last year of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain with United closely monitoring the situation.

Real Madrid hold a long-standing interest in the former Monaco star and United quietly appreciate the France international, but he is more likely to opt for a move to Spain over England.

Real have attempted to raise money to fund a transfer move for the player this summer, aided by today’s sale of Martin Odegaard to Arsenal for around £30million

However, The report adds that Real officials believe a move next summer is more likely. Mbappe will be available for free next summer with only a select few teams likely to be in a position to meet his salary demands & signing on fee.

United also remain interested in Kane and should Man City fail to agree a deal for the England skipper this summer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could return to the negotiating table next summer.
