Reports suggest that United’s players would support van Nistelrooy taking over if Ten Hag is dismissed.

The team has suffered a string of poor results, including a humiliating home defeat to Tottenham, leaving them winless in three matches and just four points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.

The club’s hierarchy plans to wait until after the international break, following two more games, before deciding on Ten Hag’s future.
