Mbeumo, a Cameroon international, has been eager to make the switch to Old Trafford after prioritizing United in recent weeks, though Brentford initially stood firm on their valuation.
After rejecting an opening £55 million offer, Brentford accepted a second bid from United worth approximately £60 million, including performance-related bonuses.
CentreDevils reports that both the club and the player have now reached full agreement, paving the way for Mbeumo to become United’s next attacking addition.
He is expected to sign a long-term deal, pushing United’s total summer outlay to around £122.5 million following Cunha’s £62.5 million transfer.
Mbeumo enjoyed a standout season with Brentford, tallying 20 goals and eight assists in 38 league matches—his best campaign to date.
Tottenham were also interested in the 25-year-old, reportedly hoping to reunite him with former manager Thomas Frank.
United are still in the market for a striker, but their pursuit may shift direction after Viktor Gyokeres reportedly expressed a preference to join Arsenal in pursuit of Champions League football.
