He has found the net five times in 13 appearances across all competitions and provided an assist in his team’s El Clasico loss to Real Madrid on Sunday.
His performances in Spain have caught the attention of club officials, who are now looking to make the move permanent. The Catalan club holds an option to secure his services for £26 million.
According to TEAMtalk, Man United are ‘happy’ that Rashford is thriving in Spain, and are satisfied that they didn’t transfer him to another Premier League side.
Insiders told TEAMtalk that even with Rashford’s standout displays at Barca, Man United feel no remorse over approving his exit.
Additionally, Man United are happy the 27-year-old is doing well as it increases the likelihood of Barca activating the purchase clause, while also sparing the club the ‘potential nightmare’ of him excelling at a domestic rival.
“I do not believe Man Utd have regrets over loaning Rashford to Barcelona,” revealed Dean Jones.
“To be honest, I think the way it’s working out is actually quite good for them. He was never going to recapture form at Man Utd, and his value was going down.
They have also managed to avoid the potential nightmare of him doing well at another Premier League club.”
Rashford has been a consistent presence under Hansi Flick, who has shown strong support for the forward.
Ahead of El Clasico, the England star was asked about his future and he responded by affirming his wish to stay at Barca.
“Oh yeah, for sure,” he said on wanting to stay at the Spanish giants.
He added: “I’m enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game. For a player is an honour.”
