Man Utd players demand Cristiano Ronaldo take up new role after dressing room blast

Manchester United players have reportedly asked Cristiano Ronaldo to take up a new role in the club’s dressing room after his half-time intervention against Atalanta.

The Potuguese forward interrupted Solskjaer’s halftime team talk with the club 2-0 down at the break as players argued among themselves.

The Norwegian coach was trying to defuse the situation before Ronaldo stepped in and gave players the hairdryer treatment, according to The Sun.

It was reported that he asked his United teammates ‘Are you not ashamed?’ as he criticised their first half display.

Whatever Ronaldo said, it worked as United completed a comeback with the striker scoring a late winner to alleviate some pressure on Solskjaer.

Following Ronaldo’s actions, the Red devils players have asked their teammate to take up a ‘bigger role’ in the dressing room to bridge the gap between the players & the coaching staff.

Bruno Fernandes also chimed in during the half-time break against Atalanta as he demanded the manager boss change his tactics.

Fernandes started the Champions League game as the no.10 in a 4-2-3-1 formation but asked if he could play in a deeper role to get on the ball more.

The former Sporting Lisbon midfielder assisted Marcus Rashford to get the club back in the game.

But Solskjaer’s tactics are still under huge scrutiny from some of the players as it’s an issue that continues to crop up this campaign.

A source told The Sun: “The message is not clear. “There is confusion in the team, players don’t understand what the tactics are.

“There’s no team, it’s just individuals and there are big problems in the defence.”
