Brighton took the lead through Yankuba Minteh in the first half, with United captain Bruno Fernandes equalizing from the penalty spot. However, Kaoru Mitoma restored Brighton’s advantage, and Georginio Rutter capitalized on a mistake by goalkeeper Andre Onana to make it 3-1.

Amorim did not hold back in his public comments, declaring that his current squad might be ‘the worst team maybe in the history of Manchester United’.

A new report from The Athletic claims that Amorim’s frustration was also evident in the home dressing room at Old Trafford. An anonymous source revealed that Amorim damaged the big screen television used for pre-match tactics during his team talk.

Although the TV, which was ‘caught as collateral’, will be repaired in time for the Europa League match against Rangers on Thursday, it highlights Amorim’s disappointment.

A dressing room source told the Daily Mail that Amorim was ‘not angry’ after the defeat but ‘just very, very sad’.

They added: “The players noticed it. They know it’s not his fault.”

In his post-match interview with MUTV, Amorim emphasized his commitment to his tactical principles, despite acknowledging that both United players and fans might face some short-term struggles as he works to elevate his 13th-placed team in the Premier League standings.

He explained: “I’m not going to change the way I see the game. I’m very clear on that. The players are going to suffer, I’m really sorry, the fans are going to suffer.

“I have one way of doing things. I know it’s going to bring results, but we have to suffer these moments. I think it’s very clear for everybody what we are going to do.”
