Man Utd to make Paul Pogba the Premier League’s highest-paid player

Manchester United are ready to make Paul Pogba the highest-paid player in the Premier League with a new £104m deal.

The Frenchman is going into the final 12 months of his contract and United are willing to offer him a huge £400,000 per week over the next five years.

United are desperate to keep the midfielder and do not want him to go into the new campaign without him tied down.

The club’s chiefs are now set to put the bumper new offer on the table – a huge increase on his current £290,000-per-week salary.

His new pay packet would go beyond the £375k a week which United team-mate David de Gea currently earns.

However, United will wait until after this summer’s European Championships with France, before finalising the structure of his new deal.

Pogba has been in discussions with agent Mino Raiola over the last year about his future plans.

The 28-year-old could demand huge wages and a hefty signing on fee if he was to become a free transfer.

Pogba revealed earlier this week that no agreement had been settled with the Red devils yet.

But SunSport claims that the French World Cup winner is happy again in Manchester, and Solskjaer is desperate to keep hold of the player.

Meanwhile, United are looking to make another statement signing this summer, and aim for the Premier League title.

And Jadon Sancho is high on their list of targets from Dortmund, with a fee still being haggled over.
