Manchester United are reportedly at the front of the queue to sign a rising Premier League star, just hours after Fabrizio Romano confirmed they were nearing a deal for Matheus Cunha.

Following the match, renowned transfer insider Romano reported that United were in pole position to land Cunha, who has expressed a desire to leave Wolves this summer.
However, United’s transfer plans appear to extend well beyond Cunha, as manager Ruben Amorim is expected to revamp the team’s attacking line-up when the transfer window opens in June.
In addition to Cunha, one of the most talked-about young Premier League talents linked with a summer move is Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.
According to The Athletic, more than half of the Premier League clubs are interested in signing the 22-year-old, with Manchester United and Chelsea seen as the frontrunners.
Now, TEAMtalk reports that United are significantly closer to securing Delap’s signature. Their offer to both Ipswich and the player is considered much more convincing and financially solid than Chelsea’s, which is reportedly a more staggered payment arrangement.
Salary is also a key consideration for Delap, who is reportedly open to joining Manchester United, even if they fail to secure European football next season.
Currently 14th in the table, United’s only realistic route to European competition is by winning the Europa League, which would earn them a Champions League spot.
Should Amorim prioritize Delap, he could activate a release clause in the player’s contract that drops from £40 million to £30 million—if Ipswich are relegated from the Premier League.
Unfortunately for manager Kieran McKenna and his team, they would need to win all five of their remaining matches and hope West Ham collapses entirely in order to avoid the drop.
