Morgan Gibbs-White restored Forest’s lead, and Chris Wood’s looping header extended it to 3-1. Bruno Fernandes narrowed the gap with a goal just after the hour mark.
On social media, United fans expressed their frustration, particularly targeting Lisandro Martinez for his role in two of Forest’s goals.
The Argentine defender failed to prevent Milenkovic’s set-piece goal and strangely allowed the ball to pass him as Wood’s header sailed over Andre Onana.
One X user wrote: “Martinez has to go. He’s so poor.”
A second tweeted: “Can’t believe Lisandro Martinez used to get compared to the likes of VVD and Saliba.”
A third added: “I now see the inadequacy of Lisandro Martinez in corners.”
A fourth said: “Yeh Lisandro Martinez, you was a good dude. it’s time to go.”
Another commented: “Lisandro Martinez proving again why he is the worst defender when it comes to aerial coverage.”
Martinez was brought to Manchester United by Erik ten Hag in a deal worth £57 million.
Since arriving at Old Trafford in the summer of 2022, he has made 77 appearances across all competitions.
However, his recent performances have been underwhelming, drawing criticism from Man United supporters after his latest outing.
Man United currently sit in 13th place in the league table and will resume their campaign next Sunday against their local rivals, Manchester City.
