Manchester City make contact with Isco

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola ‘wants to bring Real Madrid outcast Isco to the club’ after seeing him fall-out under Santiago Solari.

Isco is under contract with Madrid until 2022 but his omissions from Solari’s lineup have placed clubs such as City on alert should he be made available to leave the club.

Madrid chief Florentino Perez, according to Spanish outlet AS , wants any move to recoup more than the £100million earned from Ronaldo’s transfer to Juventus in the summer.

City were reported to have been interested in signing Isco back in 2013 when he was set to leave Malaga – only for Madrid to win his signature.

But while Isco would no doubt be keen to work under Guardiola, Madrid are said to be in no rush to cash-in on the midfielder.

The 26-year-old is likely to find himself in high demand with his peak years still ahead of him.

And in Saturday’s win over Rayo Vallecano, the Spaniard did not take to the pitch to warm-up in a nod to the fact he knew he was not going to play.

Perez is a fan of the midfielder and any move would have to make Isco ‘the most expensive departure from the Bernabeu’ which could be more than Ronaldo’s move to Juventus in the summer.

Guardiola recently suggested that additions in January is unlikely but with the club attempting to end the campaign with domestic and European titles, a move for Isco could tempt the club into business.
