Manchester United are keeping tabs on Richarlison with Mourinho interested in signing the Watford attacker if Anthony Martial leaves the club in the summer.
According to Sky Sports, United are monitoring the Brazilian ahead of a possible move when the transfer window re-opens at the end of the season.
Richarlison would be seen as a direct replacement for Martial if the Frenchman decides to leave the Red Devils.
Mourinho will be in the market for a replacement for Martial after news broke that the Frenchman rejected a new contract offer.
Richarlison started his debut Premier League season in good form by scoring five goals in his first 12 matches.
However despite not scoring in recent games since November — Mourinho and two top-flight English clubs are chasing the forward.
If Manchester United are to sign Richarlison then they will have to pay at least £40million and beat off competition from Chelsea and Everton.
Watford signed the 20-year-old for just £11.2m from Fluminense last season but they will demand a big money as he is just a year into a five-year deal.
