Liverpool, the reigning Premier League champions, were among the most active sides during the window.
They brought in nine new players, while 11 key figures—including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Luis Diaz, and Darwin Nunez—departed Anfield.
The club’s headline signing came just before the window shut, with Alexander Isak completing a record-breaking £125 million move from Newcastle United.
But Isak wasn’t the only major target Liverpool had lined up. Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace had also undergone a medical and was expected to join the Reds in a £35 million deal.
However, in a last-minute twist, Palace pulled the plug on the transfer, leaving fans stunned and curious about Guehi’s reaction to missing out on such a significant opportunity.
Though he hasn’t addressed the situation directly, Guehi recently posted a series of photos on his Instagram story, showing him training with the England national team ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Andorra.
The images included moments with former Palace teammate Eberechi Eze who recently joined Arsenal in a £67.5 million move, as well as sessions alongside Jordan Henderson and Morgan Rogers.
One photo captured Guehi working on coordination drills with fellow centre-back John Stones.
While the 25-year-old has yet to publicly comment on the failed Liverpool move, his posts suggest he’s channeling his focus toward international duty.
Still, speculation continues that Guehi may eventually speak out, with reports indicating he was disappointed by how the situation unfolded and could issue a formal statement soon.
