Max Allegri set to replace Conte at Chelsea

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is set to replace current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte at the Bridge.

Chelsea have been underwhelming this season in the defence of their Premier League crown, and after losing to Tottenham on Sunday it is now unlikely for them to make the top-four.

According to the Sun, a lack of Champions League football has not put Allegri off as he wants to take charge at Chelsea.

Allegri revealed that he is already thinking about life after Juventus and wants to leave Italy, and he told the Telegraph that: ‘Certainly I will go abroad. In Italy, finished.’

The Sun even reports that Allegri is ready to step in once Conte is sacked.

Allegri replaced Conte at Juventus four years ago while Conte had failed to get them out of the group stage in his final season.

Allegri who is already learning English – had talks with Arsenal last summer, but now looks likely to move to Chelsea instead.

However, Conte will not be sacked before the end of the season despite Chelsea’s miserable performance this season which sees them now eight points behind Spurs in the final Champions League spot.
