Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe claims Chelsea and England have got a ‘superb player’ on their hands in Mason Mount.
Mount has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last two years and was very instrumental as the club finished fourth in the Premier League and won the UEFA Champions League for a second time in their history.
It was Mount’s through ball that set up Kai Havertz’s winning goal against Man City in Porto last month and the player will be looking to add another title after being named in Gareth Southgate’s England team for this summer’s European Championships.
The England star looks set to start against Croatia tomorrow and his gokd form in recent months has not gone unnoticed among the Three Lions’ biggest rivals at the competition.
Mateo Kovacic spoke about Mount’s ability and potential earlier this week and Mbappe joined the Croatian midfielder in praising the youngster on the eve of England’s opening game.
Speaking ahead of the world champions’ clash with Germany, Mbappe told France Football that Mount would be among the three interviews he would most like to read next in the magazine together with Gianluigi Buffon and Lionel Messi.
‘Gigi because I would like to know what he is going to do next, Messi, because he does not speak much, so we would discover things,’ Mbappe said.

‘Mason Mount, because he is a superb player that we don’t yet know much about.’
Mbappe was then asked which current players stood out when it comes to speed and he reserved special praise for two Premier League players, as well as Rennes’ Jeremy Doku and PSG team-mate Neymar.
‘I was recently speaking with my father about a player who impressed me from the stands – because I was not playing – because of his speed qualities, that is Doku at Rennes,’ he said.
‘In five years as a professional, I have never seen someone from a standing start demonstrate so much power.
‘In terms of an incredibly quick player, I would also put Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. ‘Neymar too, certainly before his injuries. He could change direction with crazy ease.
‘There are also players less explosive from a standing start like Kyle Walker at Manchester City. He is like a tank once he hits his speed once he gets into it.’
