Earlier reports had suggested that Mbeumo was most interested in a move to Old Trafford, even with competition from Arsenal, Newcastle, and Tottenham.
However, more recent updates indicate that Mbeumo is now open to joining Tottenham under Frank’s leadership.
This has stirred concern among United supporters, especially since the club has not returned with an improved bid after Brentford rejected their initial offer.
Although speculation has ramped up, some sources suggest that Mbeumo has already agreed to personal terms with United and is still committed to the move.
United remain optimistic about finalizing the transfer and pairing Mbeumo with Matheus Cunha, who was recently signed following a standout season.
Manager Ruben Amorim is also looking to add another striker to the squad, though one target, Viktor Gyokeres, has declined a potential reunion.
Other forward options being considered reportedly include players from Napoli, Crystal Palace, and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Given United’s struggles in front of goal last season, their aggressive approach to strengthening the attack is understandable.
Mbeumo and Cunha combined for a significantly higher goal tally than United’s top scorers, underlining the urgency to bolster their firepower.
The race for Mbeumo continues to intensify, and United may need to act swiftly to outmaneuver Spurs.
