Lionel Messi highlighted the best goalkeeping performance he’s ever witnessed, calling it “not human”.

Fraser Forster was among those recipients, having conceded to Messi in a 2-1 victory for Celtic over Barcelona in 2012 at Celtic Park.
Forster also played in the reverse fixture, which ended in a 2-1 win for Barcelona after a late goal by Jordi Alba.
Forster’s exceptional performance left a significant impression on the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, with Messi even suggesting that the Catalan club considered Forster as a potential signing.
“The performances of Fraser Forster against us were talked about for a long time,” Messi said, as per the Daily Star.
“There was one game in Scotland where he was not human, it is the best goalkeeping performance I have seen.”
“When Victor Valdes said he was leaving we even talked about him playing here. I was sure he would end up at Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester United.”
Messi managed to score just once against Forster, a consolation goal in the 90th minute, earning Forster the nickname ‘The Great Wall of Glasgow’ for his seven impressive saves.
Forster transferred from Celtic to Southampton in 2014, where he made 162 appearances, before briefly rejoining Celtic for the 2019/20 season.
Capped six times by England, Forster signed with Spurs in 2022.
