Mo Salah breaks the internet with reaction to Spurs beating Man Utd to win Europa League

Mohamed Salah had a viral reaction to Tottenham’s triumph over Manchester United in the Europa League final on Thursday night.

Spurs had already beaten United three times this season, but they made it four when it mattered most, securing victory on the grand stage in Bilbao.

The celebrations were electric among Spurs players and fans, while Ange Postecoglou was visibly emotional as his turbulent journey at the club culminated in silverware.

The Australian, who has often stated that his second season always brings success, lived up to his claim—winning a trophy in his 100th game in charge.

Following the final whistle, Liverpool’s Mo Salah—who famously scored against Spurs in the 2019 Champions League final—referenced Postecoglou’s remark as he congratulated the North London club.

On his official X account, Salah wrote: “He did say he’d win in his second season. Congratulations!”.

Salah’s post was met by many responses by Liverpool fans, who felt he knew what he was doing.

Salah wasn’t the only Liverpool legend to weigh in on the result. Jamie Carragher was busy on CBS Sports Golazo’s coverage with Micah Richards and a debuting Roy Keane, who received quite the reception.

But, Carragher still found time to poke fun at Man United’s disappointment. Flipping an infamous phrase from a Sir Alex Ferguson team talk about Spurs, Carragher wrote: “Lads, it’s Man United!”

The former England international had predicted Spurs to lose, claiming there was “no chance” that they win as the predicted Man United’s mentality and history to get them over the line.
