Mohamed Salah insists he’s ‘very happy’ at Anfield amid rumours linking him with a big-money summer transfer to Real Madrid.
The 25-year-old has had an amazing debut campaign on Merseyside, scoring 43 goals in all competitions, and won the club’s two main prizes at their end-of-season awards on Thursday.
Salah was named the Player of the Year and the Players’ Player for his heroics across the season and his comments after lifting the awards will have been pleasing to the ears of Liverpool fans.
‘I’m very happy here and everything is fine. I have got ambitions for the future, with Liverpool,’ Salah said.
‘We had a great season and now we are in the Champions League final, and everyone is excited. It is just the start. This is my first year here and it is the same for some other players.
‘We have had an unbelievable year. It is just the beginning.’
Salah also collected his Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award on Thursday and the Egyptian thanked his team-mates for their support.
Salah said: ‘I am very happy to win these awards. I had a good season but, without the help of my team-mates, it would have been very difficult.
‘We all try to help each other. We all try to give more and we all try to push each other.
