Morata fuels Chelsea exit rumours after meeting with Juventus

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata met with Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici in Milan on Wednesday.

The meeting, which was also attended by Morata’s agent Juanma Lopez, is likely to fuel speculation that the Spaniard could leave Chelsea after just a season .

Morata moved to Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid last summer for a club-record £60m fee, and scored 15 goals in 47 games in all competitions in 2017-18.

Though he got off to a scintillating start, the 25-year-old faded as the season went on and missed out on Spain’s World Cup squad.

Morata’s struggles at the club have led to rumours he could re-join Juve, with whom he had a successful two-year loan spell.

During his two years in Turin, Morata scored 27 goals in 93 appearances with the Bianconeri and was able to win five trophies.

In addition to Juventus, Milan have also been rumoured as a potential destination for Morata.

On Tuesday, Morata’s agent Beppe Bozzo met with Milan’s hierarchy about a possible move, but unlike Wednesday’s meeting with Juventus, Morata did not attend.

According to Goal, Chelsea still believe the Spain international can come good at the club, and that his dip in form over the second half of the campaign was majorly due to a back injury.

Additionally, Chelsea are unlikely to sell Morata unless they can make a profit from his sale compared to the price he was purchased last summer.
