Cristiano Ronaldo’s confidante Piers Morgan has revealed the former Manchester United star is far from guaranteed to sign for Al-Nassr.

The 37-year-old is now a free agent after his second spell at Old Trafford was cut short after he was found to be in breach of contract following his bombshell interview with Morgan.
Ronaldo appears to be on the brink of signing a huge contract with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia which could earn him €500m over the course of a two-year deal.
Morgan, however, believes those claims are premature and Ronaldo is confident that a strong showing during the latter stages of the World Cup could earn him a move to a team with aspirations of winning the Champions League this campaign.
‘He thinks that if he does well at this World Cup, he’ll get what he really wants, which is a club in the Champions League that extends his record and his legacy,’ Morgan told the Daily Telegraph.
‘It’s not about money at this stage of his career.
‘It comes down to a burning desire to play football at the highest level, to break records and win trophies. And he has done that in more countries than any other player in history.’
Ronaldo pushed to leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window but despite the efforts of his agent, Jorge Mendes, to find a new team, several clubs in Europe passed up the chance of a deal.
And it appears Ronaldo has faced a similar situation this winter as Chelsea and Bayern both distanced themselves from a transfer this month.
When asked about a potential move for Ronaldo, Bayern Munich’s CEO Oliver Kahn said on Tuesday: ‘We have a clear idea, a clear philosophy of how our squad should be put together.
‘We all appreciate him, there’s no discussion. We all love Cristiano Ronaldo, but that’s something that doesn’t fit into our idea.’
Ronaldo, meanwhile, is preparing for Portugal’s last World Cup group match against South Korea on Friday.
