Jose Mourinho, the iconic former Chelsea manager, has shared insights into his decision to refrain from attending matches, despite residing a mere ‘two minutes’ away from Stamford Bridge.

Nicknamed ‘The Special One,’ Mourinho made a celebrated return to Chelsea in 2013, where he led the team to their third Premier League title and added another League Cup to his accolades before his departure in 2015.
Speculation has been rife about Mourinho potentially taking the helm at Chelsea for a third time, especially with the increasing scrutiny faced by the current manager, Mauricio Pochettino.
In the wake of a disappointing 2-2 stalemate with Brentford in March, the chants of Chelsea supporters filled the air, echoing their desire for the return of their storied manager, Mourinho.
‘I’ve always kept myself apart from any unethical behaviour,’ Mourinho told Portuguese outlet A Bola.
‘In London, I live two minutes from Chelsea’s stadium, from my house you can hear the goals and people’s demonstrations.
‘The day the stadium started singing my name, I stopped going to football. I have to go to other stadiums.
‘It takes 20-30 minutes from my [other] house to [Benfica’s stadium] Luz. I went to two or three games.
‘They started asking questions like [will you become manager] and I’m not going anymore. They screwed my life up with those questions.’
Gallas has cautioned that Chelsea’s present lineup lacks the requisite strength to collaborate effectively with Mourinho, should the ex-manager make a comeback at Stamford Bridge.
‘With Jose, you have to give him the right players, it’s that simple,’ Gallas said. ‘You have to give him warriors and the right players who want to fight and who want to make sacrifices and aren’t scared to suffer. If Chelsea gave him these types of players, he would be a great choice.
‘I don’t know the players so well but I think some of the players aren’t strong enough to work with Mourinho. With Mourinho, you also have to fight for your place in training and I think some of Chelsea’s players are too soft.’
