Meanwhile, City and Arsenal both lost momentum in the race against Liverpool after their scoreless draw at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
As a result, Arsenal now sits in second place, trailing Liverpool by two points, while reigning Premier League champions City occupy third place, trailing Klopp’s team by three points.
Opta’s supercomputer has run simulations for the remainder of the season 10,000 times. Currently, it gives Liverpool a 47.7% chance of winning the Premier League title with nine fixtures remaining, marking a 12.4% increase since their win over Brighton.
City’s title prospects have decreased to 33.5% from 45.9% following their draw with Arsenal.
Arsenal’s chances of clinching their first league title since 2004 stand unchanged at 18.8% after the goalless draw with City.
In his post-match press conference, Pep Guardiola also acknowledged Liverpool as the new Premier League title favorites after City’s draw with Arsenal.
Asked if Liverpool are clear favourites to win the league, Guardiola replied: ‘Yeah, the one who is first is favourite.
‘The second favourite is Arsenal and we are the third.’
Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane also believes that Liverpool have the upper hand in securing the title in Klopp’s last season at Anfield.
‘I think Liverpool, I’d have them favourites,’ Keane told Sky Sports.
‘Arsenal second favourites with their goal difference. City with their injuries and the strain of everything – Champions League coming up, same as Arsenal – [third favourites].
‘Every time I watch Liverpool, we can look at one or two faults they might have, but they get so many chances every game, they’re going to score lots of goals.
‘I’ve said Man City but what I’ve seen recently, I’m going to go with Liverpool.’
