Victor Osimhen drops cryptic hint amid huge Chelsea interest

Napoli’s forward Victor Osimhen has shared a mysterious update about his future transfer plans, raising speculation amid ongoing interest from Chelsea in 2024.

Currently engaged in international duties at the Africa Cup of Nations, Osimhen’s recent remarks have fueled further rumors of a potential departure in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Although Napoli is expected to resist any attempts for Osimhen’s departure in January, there is a possibility that the 25-year-old could leave the club in the summer if a bid in the vicinity of €120 million is tabled.

Chelsea stands as the leading contender for Osimhen’s signature. Despite reports suggesting that some figures at Real Madrid view him as a more suitable addition than Kylian Mbappe, the Blues persist as Osimhen’s most probable destination in their quest for a new number nine.

Osimhen has now provided additional insights into the direction of his next transfer move.

He told Sky: “Of course, one day I’d love to play in the Premier League definitely. But for now I’ve other plans for my career. When the time comes, everyone will know.”

In the 2023-24 Serie A season, Osimhen has notched seven goals and contributed two assists in 13 games, positioning himself as the answer to Chelsea’s enduring striker concerns.

On another note, the current Chelsea striker, Armando Broja, has attracted interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers, as reported by Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian.

The 22-year-old Albanian international has registered one goal in 13 Premier League appearances this season, with six league starts, as Nicolas Jackson has often been Pochettino’s preferred center-forward.

Wolves are currently inclined towards a loan arrangement with an option to buy, but Chelsea is said to be open to the move only if they secure a suitable replacement for Broja.

West Ham United has also expressed interest in Broja as they seek a replacement for Michail Antonio.

Despite speculation linking Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran as a temporary solution for Chelsea, the player has played down such rumors, emphasizing that playing for Chelsea would be a “dream” despite his current allegiance to Aston Villa.
