Osimhen makes final transfer decision amid Chelsea interest

Victor Osimhen has made a definitive decision regarding his future amidst Chelsea’s interest in acquiring him…

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia, the Napoli striker has chosen to join Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League.

The Nigerian forward has agreed to a three-year contract with an annual salary of around €40 million (£33.6m), and both clubs are now in the process of finalizing the transfer.

Napoli is set to receive approximately €80 million (£67.3m) plus additional bonuses as part of the deal.

Osimhen’s contract is said to include a release clause, though the exact value is not yet disclosed.

While Osimhen was open to joining Chelsea, the Premier League club was unable to come to terms with Napoli.

Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, had hoped to secure the 25-year-old on a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option, but Napoli insisted on a permanent transfer.

Osimhen originally joined Napoli from Lille in 2020 for €80 million, making him the club’s record signing.

Last December, he extended his contract with the Serie A team, which reportedly doubled his salary to €10 million (£8.7m) per season and included a release clause valued between €120 million and €130 million.
