Since his transfer from Manchester City last season, Palmer has tallied 31 goals and 19 assists in 53 matches.
He is a guaranteed selection for any world XI, but in January, Palmer was given the task of assembling his ultimate five-a-side team.
To add some excitement, the 22-year-old could only choose players he had previously played with, which excluded superstars like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Nevertheless, the England international managed to form an impressive team in a video for the official EFL TikTok account.
He included the powerful duo of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne, but surprised many by selecting Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford, a longtime teammate.
Explaining his decisions, Palmer said: “In goal I’m going to go with James Trafford because I’ve played with him at England for many years and I think he’s going to be a top ‘keeper.
“My two centre-backs will be John Stones – because I think he’s an amazing player and a great person – and Thiago Silva’s the next one. Really good player with a lot of experience.
“My two forwards are going to be Kevin De Bruyne – everything knows what he can do and Erling Haaland – I don’t really need to explain much about him.”
Palmer and Trafford were pivotal members of Lee Carsley’s Under-21 team that secured the European Championship in 2023.
Palmer is now anticipated to be a key figure for Carsley in the senior team, though he missed his first training camp due to muscle fatigue.
