Cole Palmer reveals what he did with his medals from Man City’s treble win & it sums up his mentality

This season, the Manchester-born midfielder has maintained his stellar form, tallying seven goals—four of which came in a spectacular first half during a 4-2 victory over Brighton in September—and providing five assists across just 11 league matches.

Recently, he revealed how he chose to handle the medals from his final season at Manchester City.

“I give them [the medals] to my mum,” he told GQ.

“I wanted to restock,” he added. “Clear them out so I can stock up again.”

While Cole Palmer has proudly held onto his Chelsea Player of the Year award from the 2023/24 season and his PFA Young Player of the Year honor, much of his trophy display remains empty—reserved for future silverware he hopes to win with Chelsea.

On the international stage, Palmer has already experienced glory, contributing to England’s victory in the European Under-21 Championship under interim national team boss Lee Carsley.

However, his journey hasn’t been without setbacks.

In the Euro 2024 final, Palmer came on as a substitute during England’s 2-1 loss to Spain. Entering the game in the 70th minute, he made an immediate impact just three minutes later, calmly slotting Jude Bellingham’s clever pass past Spain’s goalkeeper, Unai Simon.

But heartbreak followed when Spain scored in the 86th minute, shattering England’s hopes and leaving Palmer and his teammates devastated.

This setback, however, is likely to fuel Palmer’s determination to achieve even greater success in future tournaments with the Three Lions.

“The feeling you get when you win… you just want it again,” Palmer explained.

“You don’t want to stop and never get that feeling again.”
