Paul Scholes aims dig at Ronaldo after Man Utd exit

Paul Scholes has now reacted to Manchester United’s announcement that Cristiano Ronaldo has left the club with immediate effect.

Paul Scholes has seemingly criticised Cristiano Ronaldo after United announced his departure from the club. They confirmed he had left the club by mutual agreement, with immediate effect, on Tuesday.

A statement from the club read: “The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.

“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch.”

The decision for Ronaldo to leave the club was made a week after his interview with Piers Morgan was released, in which he said he doesn’t respect Erik ten Hag, criticised the Glazers and their training facilities, among other claims.

It has been reported that Ronaldo agreed to the interview to force a move away from Old Trafford and Scholes seems to agree with that theory, as to the background to the news about his exit, he reacted to the player’s exit.

Scholes wrote on Instagram: “Mission accomplished…. arsed!.”

Ronaldo also criticised former teammates Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney in his interview with Morgan. He suggested the players talk about him to become famous, while he said they are not his friends, merely his former colleagues.

The Portugal international is currently preparing to represent Portugal at the Qatar World Cup.
