Increased pressure is mounting on Chelsea’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino, following the team’s loss to Manchester United.
The defeat dashed the Blues’ hopes of moving closer to the top four, and Pochettino acknowledged that his team deserved the loss.

Noni Madueke, who has yet to complete a full 90 minutes under Pochettino this season, was sidelined due to injury. There are reports suggesting that the 21-year-old could depart Stamford Bridge next month.
Pochettino’s tactical decisions were criticized in Chelsea’s Wednesday evening defeat to Manchester United. However, he is not seen as the sole issue plaguing the football club.
Despite a 2-1 loss to an out-of-form Man United side, Chelsea could have conceded more goals at Old Trafford, saved only by Robert Sanchez’s exceptional goalkeeping performance.
In their previous match against Brighton, Chelsea narrowly triumphed, while Manchester United played less than 24 hours before against Newcastle United.
Pochettino attributes the lack of energy from his players as a decisive factor in Wednesday’s Manchester game.
“Disappointed because we didn’t start the game well and the feeling is they start better than us, more energy than us, we didn’t match their energy,” Pochettino said.
Despite their weekend victory against Brighton, the Blues’ commendable performance with ten men was overshadowed just a few days later by a lackluster display against Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag’s team took the lead moments after Robert Sanchez saved a Bruno Fernandes penalty, with Scott McTominay scoring. Cole Palmer equalized just before half-time against the flow of the game.
Although Chelsea managed to level the score, they displayed minimal threat in the second half, and McTominay secured the win with a header in the 69th minute.
Following the match, Pochettino provided a candid assessment, emphasizing that, from his perspective, Chelsea were the second favorites throughout the night.
“They started better than us. I think they were better. I think we create chances enough to be in the game, we draw the first half, we have some good chances we should score and be more clinical.
Chelsea player, Noni Madueke, is reportedly feeling ‘frustrated’ due to his limited playing time under Mauricio Pochettino in the current season.
Despite being just 21 years old, Madueke has been on the field for slightly over 200 minutes under the Argentine manager and currently finds himself lower in the attacking hierarchy.
The summer signings of Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson, and Christopher Nkunku have strengthened Chelsea’s attacking options, pushing Madueke further down the pecking order.
Despite joining the Blues from PSV in January with high expectations, the English winger has yet to complete a full 90 minutes this season and has been absent from four of the last five games.
A recent report from Team Talk suggests that the England Under-21 international is contemplating a surprising departure from Stamford Bridge, only a year after joining the club.
