Pogba dragged away by Carrick as Man Utd star taunts West Ham supporters

Paul Pogba was involved in a foul-mouthed confrontation with West Ham supporters after Manchester United’s win on Sunday and even had to be dragged away by Michael Carrick.

United came from a goal down to win 2-1 against West Ham, with Jesse Lingard – who spent the second half of last campaign on loan in east London – scoring an 89th-minute winner.

The Red devils’ players celebrated wildly at full-time after getting all three points and as Pogba and some of his teammates made their way to the tunnel, they were targeted by abuse.

The Frenchman held his arms out and appeared to be revelling in the victory in front of the home supporters, receiving a tirade as he was about to leave the pitch and was told to ‘shut his f***ing mouth’.

A clip on social media shows Pogba being screamed at, but the player keeps his cool and doesn’t utter a word, keeping his mouth wide open as the Hammers supporters tell him to ‘shut it’.

However, things did threaten to get out of control, and coach Carrick – who came through the West Ham academy – stepped in and had to pull Pogba away.

Pogba had the last laugh though, with the club still unbeaten in the Premier League and level on 13 points with Chelsea & Liverpool.

While the France international may have clashed with West Ham fans, Lingard was given a good reception after his loan, telling MUTV afterwards: ‘That’s football. It was a great reception from the West Ham fans. I had a brilliant time here, but I had to do my bit today.’

On his muted celebration, Lingard added: ‘They supported me in the loan spell and gave me a great reception, so it was only right to pay them back.’
