PSG set transfer fee for Man Utd to sign Donnarumma

Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future at Paris Saint-Germain appears to be over, with reports suggesting his relationship with the club has completely deteriorated following his omission from the latest matchday squad.

PSG, reigning Champions League winners, are set to face Europa League champions Tottenham in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday, but Donnarumma is not expected to travel with the team to Udine, Italy. ..Continue Reading

Despite playing a key role in PSG’s domestic and European success last season, the Italian goalkeeper has been sidelined after the club completed a £47 million deal for Lucas Chevalier, who is now tipped to become Luis Enrique’s first-choice shot-stopper.

Unwilling to accept a backup role, Donnarumma has made the decision to leave the French capital. With just one year left on his contract, any hopes of an extension have faded, especially after his exclusion from the squad to face Spurs.

Sources close to the player are reportedly frustrated with how he’s been treated this summer, and according to Fabrizio Romano, a departure is now “100% guaranteed.”

While Donnarumma hasn’t ruled out waiting until next summer to leave on a free transfer, a move during this window is considered the most likely scenario.

The Premier League is emerging as his most probable destination, with Manchester United and Manchester City both linked.

United seem to be leading the race, especially after City re-signed James Trafford from Burnley, narrowing their need for another goalkeeper.

Ruben Amorim is keen to bring in a new No. 1 to replace Andre Onana, whose form and fitness have raised concerns, and Donnarumma has reportedly approved a move to Old Trafford.

PSG are said to be asking for just £26 million for the Euro-winning keeper, given his contract situation and imminent exit.

United had previously shown interest in Emiliano Martinez, but Donnarumma has now emerged as their primary target.

The Red Devils have already spent heavily this summer, adding Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha to their ranks.

Onana, currently recovering from a hamstring injury, missed all of pre-season and is racing against time to be fit for United’s Premier League opener against Arsenal.

If Donnarumma does leave PSG, he’ll depart with 161 appearances to his name, four Ligue 1 titles, and a Champions League medal — having also been named in UEFA’s Team of the Season for his standout performances.
