Rangnick face huge players backlash over controversial changes at Man Utd

Ralf Rangnick is ‘facing backlash’ from his ‘stroppy’ Manchester United players due to changes at the training ground and in his methods, according to reports.

Rangnick has been at the helm at Old Trafford for up to a month and was brought in to revert a slide down the Premier League table.

The Red Devils are currently unbeaten under the German coach, picking up three wins and two draws in all competitions.

But the displays, particularly the 1-1 draw with Newcastle on Monday, have led to huge criticism of both his tactics and the players’ attitude.

According to the Daily Mail, the mood at the club’s training ground is ‘very low’ and dressing room cliques continue to cause rifts in the team.

According to the report, a change to the canteen, which has seen four-seater booths installed, has increased the divide between United stars.

And the United players are also believed to be unhappy with a change to the time of training sessions, with Rangnick preferring to start later.

The Mirror, which cited the Daily Mail article, reports this is ample evidence that Rangnick ‘faces backlash’ from the Red devils players.

And, Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly leads the way in throwing the toys out of the pram – he’s not happy with the displays on the pitch and is not convinced by Rangnick’s methods.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville was not impressed with the attitude of the United players in the draw against Newcastle.

“They’re a bunch of whinge-bags,” pundit Neville said at half-time on Sky Sports. “Watch them on that pitch. I’ll not go into names but they’re whinging at each other, arms up in the air complaining about everything. Honestly, they were absolutely shocking in that first half.

“They got the last manager the sack. Ralf Rangnick is not going to get the sack, he’s only had two or three weeks with them, but they’ll get a lot of managers the sack if they carry on like that, because that’s a really, really poor performance.

“It’s only 45 minutes but they’ve got to sort themselves out because that’s massively below anything expected.”

Rangnick had mentioned the players’ poor body language after the 1-0 victory over Norwich, but refused to make the same point in thier draw at Newcastle.

“Today was not a question of body language, it was a question of body physicality,” he said.
