In addition to those signings, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo has emerged as a major target for the club.
Meanwhile, several players—Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia—have all been linked with potential exits from Old Trafford this summer.
Daily Mail reporter Nathan Salt wrote on social media: “Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho all want to leave the club.
“Those 5 players have been told their required return date to pre-season is later in July so they can try and seal an exit from the club. Failure to find a new club, they will be welcomed back at Carrington.”
To add to Rashford’s woes, it has been reported that Man United have already decided to hand his number 10 shirt to new signing Cunha.
According to Ben Jacobs, who wrote: “Matheus Cunha requested the No.10 shirt. He is the kind of player who wants to be a protagonist and shoulder the pressure of wearing the number.
“However, Cunha respectful of the fact that when he joined #MUFC it was still Marcus Rashford shirt. As discussions, United informed Rashford in advance Cunha was going to be given No.10. Rashford understanding, as he is exploring a move away. Exit viewed as suiting all parties. Rashford’s preference remains Barcelona.”
On Saturday, Rashford made a post on social media for the first time since his shirt number was taken off him.
The 27-year-old forward posted a picture of himself in the gym, with a caption that read: “#NewProfilePic”.
During the second half of the 24/25 campaign, Rashford managed four goals and six assists after joining Aston Villa on loan.
But, Villa have since decided not to trigger a £40m option to sign Rashford, and he has now returned to Old Trafford.
The England star has been linked with moves to Barcelona and, this week, Bayern Munich.
