Still, the forward believes that sharper decision-making could have boosted his numbers. Rashford said: “I just try to do the right things on the pitch. Even today, I could have had more assists or goals; sometimes the decision-making to shoot or pass was wrong.
“But I am going to have days like this. The important thing is always the team and today we won. So I am happy for this.
“My focus is not so much on the output. If I am doing the right things, I know I will always be able to score and assist; my focus is with the team, to build relationships and feel comfortable.”
Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick fully agreed that Rashford still has room for development. After the weekend match, Flick remarked: “When you see the chances he has, one or two goals more will be good, also for him.
“But we can be happy with him, of course. I am very happy with him. He can play on this level and I am happy he shows it, for the fans and for the club, and also for the team-mates he is a very important player.”
Rashford will aim to extend his excellent run this week as Barcelona enter a demanding spell of fixtures.
The Catalans will take on Belgian outfit Club Brugge on Wednesday in the Champions League before an important La Liga meeting with Celta Vigo.
Flick will be determined to collect consecutive victories, with Barcelona already chasing the leaders in the title race.
They currently find themselves five points behind arch-rivals Real Madrid.
The club must also soon decide on Rashford’s long-term situation.
They hold the option to make his move permanent at the end of the season for around £26.2 million.
