The agreement contains a clause allowing the move to become permanent, and the Catalan club has reportedly already reached a decision on activating it.
Since his move away from England, the 27-year-old has delivered strong performances, scoring three times and providing five assists in ten appearances across all competitions.
He netted twice in Barcelona’s Champions League win over Newcastle United last month and added his first La Liga goal in the match against Sevilla.
Rashford’s resurgence has caught the attention of Thomas Tuchel, who has consistently included him in the national squad ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
He came off the bench in the second half of England’s friendly against Wales last Thursday and may start when the team continues its World Cup qualifying campaign against Latvia on Tuesday.
Before the match against Latvia, Rashford spoke with ITV and was asked about Tuchel’s view that consistency is the key to reaching a world-class level.
In his reply, the forward hinted that the conditions he experienced at Man United may have held him back.
“For sure, consistency is a massive part of it,” he began. “I feel like I have been in an inconsistent environment for a very long time, so it is even more difficult to be consistent.
“But I completely agree, I think consistency is what I need to bring into my game and I am looking to do that.”
Rashford added: “I want to be at my best, not sometimes, but as often as possible.
“When people talk about consistency, in order to be consistent in anything not just sport, you need consistent variables in your life and the way you train.
“We have just had so many changes so far in my career but I have to look forward and that it definitely one of the things I want to put right and improve on to be at my best more often.
“When I am at my best I really enjoy everything about the sport.”
