Since becoming part of Hansi Flick’s squad, Rashford has recorded five goals and seven assists in 13 appearances across all competitions for the Catalan side.
Due to the 28-year-old’s strong performances since arriving, there are suggestions that the club is considering making his loan deal permanent.
According to SPORT, as relayed by Tribal, Barcelona are reportedly prepared to activate the permanent clause in Rashford’s loan agreement, though discussions around the transfer fee continue amid the club’s financial constraints.
Barcelona can finalize the deal for £26.2 million, but Rashford—whose contract with his parent club runs until June 2028—may need to give up part of his current £315,000 weekly wage from United.
Recently, Rashford’s Barcelona teammate Wojciech Szczesny commented on the forward’s training form, offering high praise for his abilities.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News, the goalkeeper said to Barcelona’s YouTube channel: “He’s an excellent player, I love him a lot. Direct in his play, attacks with speed, and he’s contributed to a lot of goals. I think he’s a complete player, and I remember him since he was 18 or 19 in the Premier League. I knew he was special back then.
“He has fewer goals than he deserves, because in training, when he’s having a good day, you can’t stop him. If he shows that magical right foot more in matches, he’ll be very dangerous.”
Rashford and Barcelona are set to return to La Liga competition this weekend when they face Elche at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Sunday afternoon.
