The brother and agent of Marcus Rashford appeared to criticize Gareth Southgate following England’s disappointing draw with Denmark at Euro 2024.
The Three Lions struggled in Frankfurt on Thursday, managing only a 1-1 draw against a Danish team they were expected to defeat.

This result, coupled with a lackluster win over Serbia in their tournament opener, has given Southgate much to consider, as England’s attack looked worryingly ineffective and uninspired.
Despite having a squad brimming with attacking talent, several former England regulars, including Jack Grealish and Rashford, were not selected.
The Manchester United star wasn’t even included in the 33-man preliminary squad after a challenging season with his club, scoring just eight goals in 43 games.
However, given his consistent performance for the national team, even as an impact substitute, many believed he should have been chosen despite his recent form.
These sentiments were echoed again during the Denmark draw by Rashford’s brother and agent, Dwaine Maynard.
He posted on his Instagram story: ‘It’s hard to sit and watch when you honestly believe your man could make a difference!’
In the second half against Denmark, Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, and Phil Foden were all substituted in a triple change, with Ollie Watkins, Jarrod Bowen, and Eberechi Eze coming on. However, this made little difference to the game’s outcome.
One major criticism of England’s attack is its lack of pace, a quality that Rashford could have significantly contributed.
Explaining the decision to leave the 26-year-old out of his team, Southgate said last month: ‘These are of course difficult calls, you’re talking about players who are very good players and who have been an important of what we’ve done over a number of years.
‘With Marcus I just feel other players in that area of the pitch have had better seasons, it’s as simple as that.’
After that decision, Rashford, who had played at the last four major tournaments, posted on Instagram: ‘Wishing Gareth and the boys all the best for the up and coming tournament.’
