Real Madrid ‘regret signing Kylian Mbappe’

Real Madrid are reportedly disappointed with Kylian Mbappe’s form and are beginning to regret their decision to sign the French forward.

Mbappe brought an end to one of football’s most drawn-out transfer sagas this past summer when he moved to Los Blancos on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain…Continue Reading

Spanish journalist Romain Molina claims that Real Madrid now “regret” their move to bring Mbappe to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Despite scoring seven goals in 11 matches across all competitions, the club is said to be dissatisfied with his performance so far.

Additionally, Mbappe has made headlines during the international break, as Swedish media report that he is under police investigation for an alleged rape in Stockholm.

The incident allegedly occurred at a hotel during his stay, but Mbappe and his lawyer have strongly denied the accusations, calling them a “slanderous rumour.” Real Madrid have also publicly stood by their player during this time.

Speaking to YouTube channel Colinterview, journalist Romain Molina said, per Daily Mail: “They regret bringing him in. I guarantee that. I have spoken about it off (the record). It hasn’t been at all what they were expecting.

“It was a whim of [Florentino] Perez. It was only Perez who wanted him. [Perez] has always liked the big players. He also has a filial relationship with him (Mbappe).

“The club are gutted, firstly with his level (of performances), which is not at all at the expected levels, in the dressing room it isn’t great, that isn’t necessarily Mbappe’s fault though.

“I think Real have made a big mistake. He didn’t have a pre-season, he played instantly, unlike (Jude) Bellingham. When you see how (Mbappe) is physically at 25, you can’t explain it to me. The physical drop-off that he has had at 25, I have never seen that.”

With the international break now concluded, the defending Spanish champions will return to La Liga action on Saturday with an away match against Celta Vigo. Mbappe is anticipated to feature in the lineup.
