Real Madrid star facing huge UEFA ban as new footage emerges from Arsenal defeat

A Real Madrid star could be in hot water with UEFA following his conduct during Wednesday night’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Arsenal.

The Gunners claimed a 2-1 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu, securing a dominant 5-1 aggregate win thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. ..Continue Reading

Vinicius Junior managed to find the net for the hosts, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide.

With that result, Mikel Arteta’s side booked a spot in the semi-finals, where they’ll meet Paris Saint-Germain, who advanced after a tight battle with Aston Villa.

Real Madrid’s Champions League run is over for this season—and one of their veteran players might be forced to miss the start of the next campaign due to potential disciplinary action.

At halftime, Madrid skipper Dani Carvajal was spotted engaging with Saka in what initially appeared to be a light exchange.

Despite being sidelined with an injury and not listed in the squad, Carvajal was seen on the sidelines giving encouragement to teammates before approaching the Arsenal winger.

However, the situation escalated quickly. Cameras captured the Spanish defender tapping Saka on the head and chest, seemingly irritating the England star.

The tension prompted a swift response, with staff and security stepping in to separate the two before things got out of hand.

According to reports from Spain, UEFA is now reviewing the incident and Carvajal could be slapped with a suspension of up to four games for his actions.

MARCA wrote: “Carvajal’s action could result in a punishment from the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Committee if he decides to enter the squad automatically, as he shouldn’t be in the Real Madrid technical area since he wasn’t included in the squad.”

Meanwhile AS suggested: “The right-back faces a possible four-match ban ,according to Article 15 of UEFA’s disciplinary regulations. Section 15.a.viii of this text stipulates a one-match ban for ‘taking part in a match when ineligible to play, if such a sanction is deemed appropriate’.”

The publication also reports that for the matter to be escalated to UEFA, the referee must have included the incident in his official match report.

Carvajal has been sidelined since October 5 after suffering a significant anterior cruciate ligament injury in a La Liga clash with Villarreal.

He has since had surgery and is not expected to recover in time to play again this season.
