Real Madrid to sign shock Man Utd star that could completely derail Amorim’s plans

Real Madrid are reportedly showing interest in a Manchester United defender, as per recent reports.

Carlo Ancelotti’s squad has been heavily impacted by injuries, with Eder Militao, Dani Carvajal, and David Alaba all sidelined due to cruciate ligament tears.

These setbacks have forced the Madrid manager to rely on younger players and midfielders in defensive positions. ..Continue Reading

In their 2-0 Champions League loss to Liverpool at Anfield last week, Ancelotti fielded Fede Valverde as a right-back and paired 21-year-old Raul Asencio with Antonio Rudiger in central defense.

Despite bouncing back with a 2-0 La Liga win over Getafe on Sunday, courtesy of goals from Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappé, Madrid remains concerned about their vulnerability against stronger Champions League opponents.

This has led to speculation that Real Madrid could target Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot.

The 25-year-old, named United’s Players’ Player of the Year for the 2023/24 season, has been a key figure under both Erik ten Hag and new manager Ruben Amorim, starting in both Premier League games since Amorim’s arrival.

Dalot joined United from Porto in 2018 and has won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup during his time at Old Trafford.

According to Spanish outlet Relevo, Real Madrid have made contact with the defender’s representatives regarding a potential transfer.

The report suggests United might begin negotiations at a fee of €50m (£41m), though no official confirmation has been made by either club. Dalot is under contract with Manchester United until June 2028.

Despite United’s struggles in recent years, Dalot has been a consistent performer and even earned praise from Cristiano Ronaldo, who spoke highly of him during his controversial interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored in November 2022.

“If you ask me what I see at Manchester United, I would probably mention Diogo Dalot,” Ronaldo told Piers Morgan.

“He is an example, he is young but very professional, and I do not doubt that he will have a long career in football. He is young, intelligent, and very professional.”
