Andy Robertson believes Billy Gilmour has a ‘huge future’ after the Chelsea player impressed for Scotland in their draw with England at Wembley on Friday.
England struggled to find their rhythm in their second Group D game as Scotland were able to secure a point against Gareth Southgate’s side.
Gilmour was handed his first senior start for Scotland for the match and was even named man of the match for his outstanding display at the heart of their midfield.
The result leaves Scotland needing a victory against Croatia in their final Group D game on Tuesday, while England must beat Czech Republic in order to finish top of the group.
Asked where he rated Gilmour’s display, Robertson told ITV: ‘Right up there. ‘I spoke to him in hotel today and just looked at him and to be fair to Billy nothing fazes him.
‘That’s why I believe he can have as many caps as he wants for Scotland. ‘He’s got a huge future ahead but the here and now is pretty good as well.
‘Today him and Callum McGregor, both of them in the holding role, were magnificent.’

Speaking about Gilmour’s performance after the goalless draw, Scotland head coach Steve Clarke said: ‘We knew before we put him in he can play.
‘It’s just getting the right moment, tonight was his big moment and he took it and no one was surprised by it, certainly not in our camp.’
