Ronaldo still open to Chelsea approach after £432m offer from Al-Nasr

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly still open to an approach from Chelsea despite his lucrative offer from Al-Nasr.

Earlier this week, reports in Spain claimed that Ronaldo has reached an agreement with the Saudi Arabian side over a deal worth €500m (£432m).

The 37-year-old, whose contract with Manchester United was terminated last month, has been offered a two-and-a-half-year deal worth €200m (£173m) per season.

But according to the Sunday Mirror, Ronaldo is yet to reach a final decision over his future and would be open to a potential move to Chelsea.

The report claims that Ronaldo is focused on Portugal’s World Cup campaign and will not decide his next team until after the competition.

It’s also claimed that Sporting CP, Ronaldo’s boyhood club, are keen to sign him on a fre but they are unable to get anywhere near Al-Nasr’s offer and already face a fight to be in the Champions League next campaign.

Chelsea, meanwhile, had the chance to sign Ronaldo from Manchester United in the summer but a disagreement between Thomas Tuchel and the club’s co-owner, Todd Boehly, meant that the deal did not materialise.

Tuchel has since been sacked by Chelsea and replaced with Graham Potter, although reports already claimed he too is ‘unenthused’ by the prospect of bringing Ronaldo to the club.

Ronaldo is currently preparing for Portugal’s World Cup last-16 clash against Switzerland on Tuesday.

The 37-year-old has scored just one goal in Qatar but that has made him the first male player in history to find the net in five different World Cup tournaments.
