Cristiano Ronaldo reacts to Ruben Amorim joining Man Utd

Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a message to Ruben Amorim, who has recently taken over as the club’s head coach.

Amorim assumed the role this week after the club parted ways with Erik ten Hag earlier in the month.

The 39-year-old manager is tasked with rejuvenating United’s season following a sluggish start and will lead the team in their Premier League clash against Ipswich Town next Sunday. ..Continue Reading

Ronaldo, whose second spell at United ended after disputes with Ten Hag, is hopeful that Amorim will achieve success during his tenure at Old Trafford.

When asked about Amorim’s move to Man United after Portugal’s win 5-1 over Poland on Friday, Ronaldo said: ‘I wish him all the luck in the world. Manchester United really need it.’

It was claimed this week that Ronaldo referred to Amorim as a ‘poet’ in conversations with members of the Portugal national team.

When asked about the reference, Amorim said: ‘Yeah. But it’s like a funny thing because I like to speak, not too much, but when I speak, I think I speak from the heart. I think people feel that. It was something just to have fun.’

Ronaldo, meanwhile, has revealed that he may only have two years left before his retirement.

‘I’m enjoying it. Planning my retirement from football… that will happen in a year, two years, I don’t know. I’m enjoying the moment. I’m enjoying football,’ the 39-year-old said.

‘It’s getting up, going to training and playing motivated. When I don’t feel that way, I’ll take a step forward and say that it’s not for me anymore. I haven’t felt that yet.

‘Do I want to reach 1,000 goals? It’s normal to want to, but I don’t think about it. I’m thinking game by game. In three months I’ll be 40. I’m taking it easy and that’s what I’ve been doing. What I like most is playing for the Portuguese national team. I really enjoy coming here. Scoring goals also helps.’
