‘Ronaldo will be at 150% for Champions League final’ – Zidane

Zinedine Zidane has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will “be at 150%” for the Champions League final with Liverpool.

The Portuguese went off injured during their draw against Barcelona, but he will be fit to face Liverpool, Zidane has said.

Zidane also said that he expects Dani Carvajal and Isco to be fit for the final against Liverpool in Kiev.

Ronaldo sustained an ankle injury after scoring early on against Barca and was substituted at half-time. While Zidane does not see an immediate return for the Portuguese, he said he will not lose sleep over the issue.

“Everyone will be okay for the final – Cristiano, Isco and Carvajal,” Zidane confirmed on Tuesday. “Cristiano is the one who will be out longest, as it just happened two days ago. But he is good, he’s walking normally.

“Nobody will have any problems for the final, they will all be at 150%.”

The Portuguese is expected to miss the forthcoming clash with Sevilla and is unlikely to play any part in next weekend’s match against Celta Vigo, but he could be fit in time to face Villarreal on the final league game of the season.

“We do not know when he will be back with the group, or if he will be back for Villarreal, but it would be perfect to have everyone ready for that final La Liga game,” he said.

Any hopes he had of overtaking Lionel Messi in the race for the top scorer award have been ended, with the 33-year-old eight goals behind the Argentine.

Carvajal, however, has been on the sidelines since injuring his hamstring in the first-leg victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League on April 25. He has missed Real’s last three matches.

Isco has also missed out of Madrid’s last three games due to a shoulder problem.

Madrid are chasing their third consecutive Champions League crown, as they became the first team to successfully defend the trophy since the new format of the competition was introduced in 1992-93.

The last team to win the European Cup three times consecutively was Germany’s Bayern Munich between 1974-76.
