Cristiano Ronaldo named among worst XI players of EURO 2024 [Full list]

Cristiano Ronaldo has been included in Marca’s “worst XI” of Euro 2024 after Portugal’s early departure from the competition.

Ronaldo was the only player from Portugal to be selected in Marca’s “worst XI”.

The 39-year-old featured in five matches at Euro 2024 without scoring a goal, although he did register one assist.

Arsenal and Liverpool players Oleksandr Zinchenko and Dominik Szoboszlai were also part of the team.

The full XI: Livakovic (Croatia); Di Lorenzo (Italy), Mancini (Italy), Christensen (Denmark), Zinchenko (Ukraine); McGinn (Scotland), Milinkovic-Savic (Serbia), Szoboszlai (Hungary); Vlahovic (Serbia), Lukaku (Belgium), Ronaldo (Portugal).

Entering his 11th major tournament with high hopes, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner did not live up to expectations. This suggests he is no longer the dominant force he once was for Portugal.

His missed penalty against Slovenia might be his last significant moment in his national team’s jersey as he considers his future with the national team.

Ronaldo holds the record for the most goals at the European Championships with 14, ahead of Michel Platini’s nine for France.

After a demanding season for both club and country, Ronaldo is currently taking a well-earned break.

He is anticipated to return to Al-Nassr, where he aims to lead the team to a Saudi Pro League title.

His future with Portugal remains uncertain, and he might still compete in the 2026 World Cup.
